Why I’m running
This is my first big run, my first half marathon… I must be crazy!
But take a look at my inspiration:
.
My fiancée Meg
Meg, my beautiful fiancée, has survived a brain tumour. She has had the all clear ever since her eight hour operation by Prof. Peter Black at Children’s Hospital, Boston in June last year. She is a amazing inspiration, for me, her friends and family, and the thousands of people who have heard her story. I am so lucky to be part of her life and to witness her magic first-hand every day. Although it makes the small challenge of 13 miles seem trivial, I’m going to do my very best!

brainstrust
I am really proud to be part of this proactive young charity. Already we are supporting over 80 brain tumour patients and their families, giving them the advice they so dearly need when they receive the diagnosis. We are also supporting a few patients whose search for treatment is also leading them to the world-class facilities available in Boston. We are committed to bringing the technology needed to the UK and building a centre of excellence that will update treatment, improve care and ultimately save lives.

Can I do it 2 hours?
You’re probably thinking that two long legs have got to be an advantage on the Royal Parks Half Marathon. I hope you’re right! So I’m going to raise the stakes and aim to get round the 13 miles in 2 hours.
.
With your help I’d love to raise £2,000 for brainstrust to help other brain tumour patients like Meg find the treatment they need.
