Week 5 of 12 – finding my stride
This week I ran a total of 10k. Well I’m very sorry but it’s the August Bank Holiday so I really didn’t fancy doing any more running of the weekend whatsoever. However as the dedicated athlete I did some cross training with Meg in the pool. I’m not sure dive-catch really counts though!
I hope everyone else running for brainstrust took the weekend off as well. It’s amazing, we’ve got 52 runners now! Take a look at the brainstrust’s 52 runners.
I feel good about finding my stride this week, but a bit lackadaisical about not doing a decent long run. Sure I’ve got my 6km + 4km habit going very well, but it’s going to take more than that to get round the course on race day in under 2 hours. I need long distance stamina. Nevertheless I have a plan.
This week I’m hoping to meet up with Mike Cryne for a training session at his gym. It should be good for both of us. I think our aim is to run 9 miles – that’s 14.5km! Still I’m sure we know what we’re doing by now, even if it does sound completely mad!
